Converting your video to FLV
From LongTail Video Wiki
The solutions for converting video to Flash are free to expensive. There are many solutions and some may be troublesome. 1-Pass Encoding is less expensive but does not give the quality of 2-Pass Encoding.
Here are some solutions.
Riva FLV Encoder - Free, creates 1-pass FLV files, Windows only (do NOT purchase Riva Producer Lite!) Flix Standard - creates 1-pass FLV files, Windows and Mac Visual Hub - creates 1-pass FLV files, Mac only FLV Producer - all-in-one product, 1-pass FLV, Windows only Video Wrap - all-in-one product, 1-pass FLV, cool page creation, Windows and Mac Adobe Flash Professional - 2-pass FLV, does everything Flash related not only web video, Win & Mac Sorenson Squeeze - 2-pass FLV, multiple file creation, no player creation, Windows and Mac Flix Pro - all-in-one product, 2-pass FLV, Windows and Mac
Another way and the simplest is to save your video file as an H.264 MP4 file. Then simply change the extension to .flv. This may not always work in the future depending on how standards change but it works now.
